Even Laurie has dusted off her paintbrushes and is painting little tiny prints we've framed to sell at the store...imagine owning your own piece of Speckled Hens original artwork! Too cute! I guess Corrie's incredible creativity is rubbing off on us. It's about time, we were getting a little lazy...I just had a "Modern Family" moment! For those who haven't had the pleasure of seeing this, you are missing a very funny sitcom on ABC.
A bird, (I think it was sparrow), flew into the store today. It flew in, after a customer and started to make friends with all the other birds in our store! My customer really didn't take any notice of it and was asking me questions about something or other, but I couldn't focus because of the bird!
I almost had my own little tizzy fit because the bird kept flying into the windows. It even went in back of the store, in our kitchen area, and landed on a fake potted plant. (This tells you how real looking our plants are.)
I was able to wave it towards the door. I didn't use a tennis racket because I didn't want to destroy anything in the store, but I used a magazine. (For those of you who DID see "Modern Family" know it was a much better choice!) The bird hit the window and was dazed enough for me to pick it up and put it outside. It just took a bit for it to recover and it went on it's way. I was only then able to focus on my customer, who I asked with a nervous laugh, "Did you see Modern Family last week?"...she looked at me with a blank face...oh well, too much to explain, plus she didn't even know the bird was in the store! So I just said, "Yes, I can gift wrap that for you!"
